in my website, created with Microsoft Expression, there are images that look fine (one below the other) in IE but in Firefox one image is on top of the other. This is, however, only an issue for that one image in that page, all other images are located where they should be. The pict and cell properties for that image is identical to the other ones.

Can you provide a link to the website so we can take a look?

You also could try the less heavily trafficked and more developer-focused forum here: mozillaZine Web Development board. That's a separate site with its own registration.

More generally speaking, when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site. This will help avoid problems with cache inconsistencies or invalid stored settings.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

If there is any floating content on that page then you may have to add a clear:both rule or a clearing div.
