hello klkuppe01, this kind of crash will be apparently fixed in firefox 25, the next version of the browser. you could test it with firefox beta right now: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/beta/
Did not work do I have to uninstall the firefox that doesn't work first
yes, you might want to uninstall the currently installed firefox version first (but make sure NOT to check the remove personal data option in order to keep your bookmarks, passwords, etc.)
I uninstalled and then installed again at the end of the download pop window said unable to complete download at this time. Later it finished installing I tried to open fire fox and it opened with a blank screen just borders. Should I do a system restore to previous date?
Attached is a screenshot of how it oprns
does the following article apply to your situation: Firefox opens with a transparent or blank window?
Sorry to bother you Phillip any other suggestions?
Does it help if you start Firefox in Safe Mode or with hardware acceleration disabled?
You can use one of these to start Firefox in Safe Mode:
- On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
- On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
- Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
