When I invert colors the icons in Gmail, FB, etc and the text input boxes don't comply so they appear blank.
I use white font on black background for ease of sight. The main body of most pages displays correctly but input text boxes and navigation icons in FB Gmail etc are not visible but I remember their location usually. On a new site I have to "allow pages to use their own colors" in order to see ALL of the the contents.
Right here in this input box I can't see what I'm typing. It's white on white.
Now I've reverted to white on black and I CAN see this text.
Please help.

Hello,

Thank you!
Note that some websites may not specify both the text color and background color, but assume the default is black text and white background and in such a case you can get unreadable text (selecting the text to get the highlight color should also work).
You can use code in Stylish or userContent.css to workaround such issues with white text on white background or black text on black background.
- Stylish: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/
- http://userstyles.org/help/stylish_firefox
The customization files userChrome.css (user interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder.
Ok, here are three screenshots. The red highlights the areas where icons would normally appear in black on white (default) mode. The blue highlights where text insertion boxes are. I even got one of this very page showing the 'blacked-out' icons just above the text insertion box. Some text insertion boxes behave properly (display white text on black background) and some don't.
