I really wanted to reply to forum topic but there isn't any obvious way to generate an account profile with out posting. One thing I did was put an entry in my host file so that the site I was directed to resolves to my local host IP address. I read the forums and when I get browser redirects from Malware I put host file entries so they resolve locally. Has anybody used this method to prevent malware? This started from getting hard drive will be deleted in 5 minutes malware over X mas holiday. I ran malware scans ect to remove that bug actually uninstalled and reinstalled firefox. Malware sucks.

Since these unwanted pages are triggered by ads on popular sites (for example, if you mouse over their ad, or perhaps even automatically), you might consider using an ad blocking add-on such as:
