After changing password with VirginMedia, Thunderbird accepted it once but now refuses access
I have E-mail VirginMail which uses Gmail. Today I changed my E-mail address with VirgionMail. Then Thunderbird requested my E-mail address when opening it and accepted it with downloaded mails successfully. Subsequent attempts to open Thunderbird failed with message"Cannot connect to mail server imapd.virgin.net the connection was refused

Perhaps you need to change IMAPD to IMAP in the server name.
