PC HDD failed. Can run Firefox from a second PC BUT forgot password. Password changed for Firefox on 2nd PC but only recent bookmarks for 2nd PC show. Is there a way to recover the bookmarks created on the first PC? FWIW, first PC runs Win10 Home and 2nd PC runs Win7 Pro.

If you can access the old hard drive, your data is under your Users folder, along a hidden path.

Let's say it's the E drive as an external drive:

E:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox

AppData is the hidden folder. To make it visible, see: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files

hi there!

In the Library window, you can also find the Undo command on the “Organize” menu. (Press Ctrl+Shift+B in Firefox to open this Library window.) If you deleted the bookmarks a few days ago, use the Restore sub menu under Import and Backup. Firefox automatically creates a backup of your bookmarks each day and stores several days’ worth.

I think this will be help to you.

If you mean you reset the password to your Firefox Account, unfortunately that probably emptied anything previously stored by the Sync feature.

Do you know whether you can access your old hard drive as a data drive, even if it will not boot, for example, through a USB drive caddy, or is it more broken than that?

I was afraid that might be the case, <jscher2000>. Assuming I CAN access/recover from the old HDD, what are you thinking?

Thanks, JS! Will certainly give this a try.

Hi,

When you open Firefox browser and use the ctrl + shift + B keyboard shortcut, a library box will open. Select the organize and click on the undo button (ctrl + Z) to manually delete bookmarks.

If you were to manually delete bookmarks a few days ago, When you use the keyboard shortcut ctrl + shift + B, select Import and Backup in the Library box. You can then restore the deleted bookmarks by clicking on the restore.
