Ask to save logins and passwords for websites
The check box 'Ask to save logins and passwords for web sites' keeps unchecking itself. It used to work fine. Now, it doesn't. And consequently, the sub-item 'Autofill logins and passwords' won't work either.
Every time I open the browser to login to a website that has the login details saved, nothing happens. I have to go into settings every time and re-check the main checkbox (i.e. 'Ask to save...') in order to also activate 'Autofill...'.
This is really frustrating and annoying. Why won't the box stay checked? Hope you can come up with an answer. Many thanks.

Thanks for the assistance. I have uninstalled the Trend Micro Password Manager, which I hadn't realised was even installed until I went looking . Firefox now working as expected. Cheers, MM

Are you using a password manager other than what came with the browser?
Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
If you have the "Trend Micro Password Manager" installed then uncheck the Password Protection box in its configuration or uninstall this application via the Windows Control Panel.
Hi there - thanks for the tip about Password Manager. I do use Trend Micro, but the PM application is not set up (I so I thought). Until recently, the app wasn't even installed, but I had problems with Trend and had to reinstall it. Password Manager now seems to have reappeared. Is it likely to cause problems even so? Would it be better to uninstall the component? And now that I've woken it up, it's wanting to install a 'Password Manager Browser Extension' for Firefox. That sounds like more trouble brewing. Can you advise, please?
See my above reply.
You can't have multiple Password Managers enabled at the same time, so if you have others like RoboForm or Trend Micro Password Manager then the builtin Firefox Lockwise Password Manager will be disabled.

I must have let it slip by at some point and was having the same trouble. Now that I've uninstalled TM PwdMgr everything's fine again.
btw: Trend Micro has been the single most effective protection I've used in 30 years. Had to dump McAfee years & years ago and went to Norton. Then, when they lost their focus on the protection and it was an easy hit for usurping, dumped it too and since then have been with Trend. And, have it on lots of friends and associates systems.. As long as it's left running and configured properly.. Not a single system has gotten infected in the last ten years or more. Anyway, that said.. Don't want their PwdMgr on my system since I don't know if it allows profiles or just shares everything it stores with anyone else on the license. So.. it got the boot.
Anyway, Very happy that someone knew the solution to this perplexing issue.! Three Thumbs Up.!!!
