Firefox interaction with System Mechanic Ultimate Defense.
I've used Firefox for decades with no problems. Last week I switched from Macafee to System Mechanic Ultimate Defense. I discovered two issues immediately:
1) I can no longer log into my online banking site I tested, yet I still can login using Chrome. The error "for security reasons your session has ended" appears. It does not register as a failed login at my bank. I've worked with my bank's tech staff to no avail. System Mechanic support just told to me to use Chrome....grrr.
2) clicking on certain links just sites with the URL loaded in the address bar, but a blank screen. These include Adobe esign documents, and the login for my local public TV site.
Hours of fiddling and talking with multiple support people. NO headway.

Have you tried turning off browser protection -- just for Firefox -- to see whether that makes any difference?
- From the Privacy Guardian Dashboard, click Browsers.
- Here you will see a list of browsers available for privacy protection.
- Find Firefox and switch its status to Disabled.
Not sure whether this is the latest UI: https://cdn.iolo.net/content/uploads/PG_Browsers_2.png
Possibly you also need to disable the extension in Firefox. You can do that using the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. On the right side, find the "Manage Your Extensions" heading.
Find System Mechanic Ultimate Defense and click the slider switch to disable it.
Any improvement?
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. SM ultimate defender does not have a Privacy Guardian dashboard, and SMUD is not listed as an extension. Per my bank's tech support, I did locate where allow cookies for my online banking site, but it does not solve the problem either. And now, after SMUD updated their virus list this morning, I can no longer log in via Chrome. So it's back in IOLO support's lap.
