I can go to the https://www.newsmax.com website and I keep getting "Secure Connection Failed" message. I can then to to the address bar, click on the "lock" emblem (that is not locked) and choose "remove site data and cookies" Once I do that, and click on "Try Again" the website works. If I choose a new link from Newsmax, and choose open link, that link has a ! point in the tab, and go there and get the same message. Once I remove cookies and data that site and it's links work .... for a while. Then it is back to that same message "Secure Connection Failed"

Any thoughts on how to correct this? This does not seem to be an issue in Waterfox or Pale Moon, 2 other browsers I also have.

What security software do you have?

Reboot the computer into Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that has effect.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin), always make sure such extensions do not block content.

You can check for issues with Enhanced Tracking Protection and Total Cookie Protection. Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.

  • click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection

You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages like about blocked content.

I am using PC Matic for anti virus. Even if I click on the PC Matic icon in the top browser bar and choose "disable for this site" It still give me the message "Not Secure" in the address bar and get the same message as I posted above for the entire page. Only on Newsmax is this an issue. no other sites, such as Western Journal, FOX news, find-a-grave, or other sites, no issues.

Oddly I don't have this issue when going to use a browser like Waterfox or Pale Moon. Both of them work with Newsmax site, but not Firefox.

I also checed my computer's date and time and everything is spot on for date, and time, and time zone.

I turned off PC Matic for that site, and made sure no other ad blockers or security protocol was causing any issues. Still have problems with Firefox and Newsmax.com website.

I thought perhaps someone might give me a "trick" to do or a setting to change in Firefox "Settings" that would ignore Newsmax or at least allow it to function without first having to clear site data and cookies randomly.
