I remember when I first installed Firefox on my MacBook Pro there was a question that read something like this.

Would you like to use IE rules or Safari rules for Firefox to display content?

I always checked IE.

I build websites and use Firefox as my main browser. Until the latest version all the content that i designed worked just fine in firefox and sometimes not so good in safari. I took comfort in the fact that at least it would display in IE and firefox ok. (I really couldn't care less if someone using safari could see anything!)

Now some of the things I have designed don't work well @ all in firefox. Here is an example. I made a .swf that has two colorPickers. One for the background and one for the text. Now this .swf works just fine in all browsers until you load it to another .swf via a loader. When viewed threw the loader.swf only one colorPicker works. I have spent 6 hours trying different things and it boils down to Safari interpreter SUCKS!!!!

In Chrome and IE everything works just like I programed. Flawlessly!

I would like firefox to stop pandering to mac and force IE interpretation of websites.

Till this is fixed or at least you give back the ability to interpret the web like IE I will be forced to use Google Chrome As my main browser! This sucks. I love Firefox. What has happened to it? My favorite browser is BROKEN!!

Hello "God" :) Hihi. Ok, as for your problem...

You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Have disabled all the plug-ins, themes and addons. It still displays like Safari.

It works just fine in Chrome and IE! Still I would like to use FireFox.

Safari SUCKS.

I think you may be the only one to catch the Silmarillion reference. I dont know any one else who has gotten past the first chapter.

Try reinstalling Firefox. Hopefully that will fix it...

And I love Silmarillion. Definitely as much as I loved The Lord of the Rings. Great book.

So I just got back from vacation and uninstalled firefox. Reinstalled it and I still have the same problem. The odd thing is now it doesn't work in Google Chrome either. So I'm sure it is a Mac problem now. Probably has nothing to do with FireFox and everything to do with being dumb enough to buy a 4000 $ paperweight called mac. What a hunk of junk.

Thanks for your help.

I loved that book to.

Glad to hear Firefox has started working properly now - it seemed to use some non-standard, broken rendering before, like IE.

Also, one would think that a Silmarillion fan would at least get the spelling right.
