Real Player Browser Download Plugin button in Firefox 10 stopped appearing on videos.
The Real Player Browser Download Record Plugin 15.0.1 in Firefox 10 stopped appearing on all videos. It was working from 1/31 to 2/3 and now doesn't show at all. A clean reinstall of Real Player 15 Plus doesn't fix this. OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. As usual after a F.F. upgrade, the download button works on Internet Explorer. Now it's the weekend and Real's Developers aren't even working! The Developers of both companies need to coordinate this once and for all. Norton started doing this with Mozilla at my suggestion for the Norton Tool Bar and there no longer is any delay in compatibility. Please contact Real Player tech support to complain. Their Case Manager told me that the three week compatibility delay with Real Player 14 last year would never happen again. I wouldn't bet on it.
Update Note: This thread is now also about "Adobe Flash 11.3 doesn't load video content" because people having that problem started posting here.

Hey, guys. I have good news on the RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin compatibility with Firefox 10.0. It's fixed, as of two days ago but tech support wasn't informed properly. Yesterday, 2/8 I tried to check for updates and there was one and it fixed the compatibility problem. Here's what to do. Click on the RealPlayer button in the upper left corner of RealPlayer and on the menu that opens, click on "Check for Updates". You should see an update checked for the same "15.0" but when you run the update it should say it's now reading "15.0.2". If the download button still doesn't appear, I think I had to then open the Firefox Addons folder, click on "extensions"and enable the Plugin extension by simply clicking the "enable" button which should now be available. Then just restart Firefox and it should work. Let me know if you're still having any problem with it.

Hi mha007, Apparently you didn't read or understand the problem. Not one single suggestion had anything to do with the actual problem. I'm a pretty advanced user and I'm trying to report that this is a Developer issue involving updating the compatibility of the Firefox Browser Record Plugin 15.0.1 specifically for Firefox 10.0. Everything you referred me to, of course, doesn't work because it can't work until the RealPlayer Developers get off their asses and update the Plugin. If I said it "stopped appearing on all videos", I meant what I said. This has nothing to do with any given site at all. I've tested every single idea in that stupid knowledge base. These are simply very basic user instructions for a user who doesn't know how this button works. They cannot ever clear up or even explain a compatibility issue that has to be updated by the Developers. We go through this every update of Firefox. Thanks for trying, though, but we really need users of Firefox 10.0 that are also having this problem with the compatibility of the Browser Record Plugin 15.0.1 to complain to ReaPlayers' Developers.
Hello CheckMate, I'm not a very "advanced user" in computers, but I know enough that I'm too having problems downloading videos with RealPlayer downloader and FireFox 10.0. It is very frustrating, IE does work with no problems, but I prefer using FireFox. Please let us know when a fix comes out and how to fix this problem. Thanks,
I have the same problem) Let's say hello to Google Chrome & IE for the nearest 3 weeks! :-P

@SportsCesar
The game's link you provided requires Adobe Flash plugin. It does not have anything to do with any RealPlayer plugins. See the following link regarding the Flash Plugin

This worked. Thank you so much!
Real.com need to listen to us when we tell them that THIS is the reason so many of us refuse to pay for their "upgrade". I will not have my browser choice dictated by them. If it's FF or RealPlayer, FF will win out every time.
I had the same prob i uninstalled ff 10 & went back to ff 9 works great now
@mky1428
Rolling back to FF9 is not needed anymore, the issue has been fixed. I did this myself before the update from RealPlayer. I posted this explanation yesterday, but I'll repeat - it's already worked for several other users on this forum after reading my post. Here it is again, updated.

Módosította: CheckMate,
Did anyone else find this solution worked? I installed the correct version of Real Video, restarted FireFox 10, and still found the plug-in grayed out, and the notice that the Real Downloader was incompatible with FireFox 10 (and there was no Enable button).
Any other suggestions would be welcomed.
@MDJonas
Over a dozen people who read my two posts said it worked. So can you give some more information? First, you say you installed the correct version of "Real Video". It's actually RealPlayer. No, I'm not trying to split hairs, I just want to be sure you do have the right version. Next, click on the RealPlayer button in the upper left corner and on the menu that opens, click Help and then About RealPlayer and look for the version number. The updated version is 15.0.2.72. If it still says anything else, then click on the bottom where it says Check for Updates. There should be a checked box for RealPlayer 15.0. If there is,just click the Install button and the plugins will be installed automatically. It will read correctly 15.0.72 after it's installed. Check for the version number again, Help, About RealPlayer and make sure it's now reading 15.0.2.72. Then open the Firefox extension folder and the enable button should appear. I'm not actually sure whether the updated version is only available by doing the update, or if it's automaticaly updated if you reinstall RealPlayer, but I do know the update works. By the way, there's also a minor update of Firefox to 10.0.1 with some bug fixes. If this doesn't work, then there's some other cause and you can try calling RealPlayer support at 1(866)- 688 2077. Press the phone option 2 for RealPlayer Plus, even if you don't have the paid version, because they don't provide tech support for the free version, but they should talk to you about a basic issue like this, or escalate if it requires that. Below, I've pasted a copy of their exact instruction to me but I had already discovered the update had gone thru (it was expected, but they weren't told exactly when). Good luck and let us know what happens.

The RealPlayer update worked for me, thanks CheckMate
I've done everything that was suggested, including re-installing Real Video...but, alas, the Downloader plug-in continues to be grayed out, the conflict with FireFox 10 notice is still there, and there's no "Enable" button.
I've installed Video Park Downloader, and it seems to be working okay.
Thanx for trying to help.
Módosította: MDJonas,
If you're still having trouble getting Real to download videos, make sure that you delete Real Video Downloader first (if you installed it separately or if it's listed separately in the list of programs that can be uninstalled), and then re-install the current version of Real Video.
I've recently started using Revo Uninstaller (free version) - it's excellent.
@MDJonas
That's exactly why I asked you what version you were using because you called it the "Real Video". The Real Video Downloader is a different program and can conflict with the RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin. You're still referring to RealPlalyer as "Real Video". These exact names can be important in troubleshooting issues like this. It's always a good idea to uninstall previous versions of programs from the Uninstall list unless a there are instructions that it's not necessary, as with Firefox. But certainly that's the thing to do if something's not working right. Using Revo was a good idea, but not necessary and can sometimes cause serious problems. I know because I've experienced them more than once and had to use system restore to roll back the mistake to before I ran Revo. I'ts not meant to routinely uninstall programs. Only use it if you can't uninstall a program the normal way. With RealPlayer and Real Downloader, all you have to do is :
1) Uninstall from the Uninstall a Program list (start button>control panel>uninstall a program), select the program and click Uninstall.
2 ) Find the folder for the program in the Programs list ( Computer, local disc (C), Program Files or Program Files (x86)
3) Delete the folder.
Módosította: CheckMate,
Thank you for the suggestion about being accurate with the names of programs, etc. -- I will be in the future.
I've gotten the download function to work, although I certainly took the long-way around to do it.
