At frequent intervals Firefox updates itself. This may be all well and good for most people most of the time, but each time this happens Roboform password/login manager stops working. This morning V 11 installed itself and the Roboform toolbar is missing,

"Can not load RoboForm add-on Please restart browser or reinstall RoboForm"

Restarting doesn't work. Re-installing V10 has not worked. Firefox is my default browser, but this is my machine I should be able to choose when to update. How can I get Roboform toolbar back? And most importantly how can I prevent Firefox updating itself?

Thanks.

Second time around the update worked. But I've wasted so much time on this, what I really want is some way to prevent Firefox updating itself. If there is no way to prevent this from happening would some knowledgeable person tell me and then I'll dump it.

It sounds like your RoboForm has been corrupted for some reason. I would try reinstalling the latest version. If you try reading http://www.roboform.com/platforms/browsers/firefox, you'll see that the latest version of Roboform will support pretty much any version of Firefox over Firefox 6, so updating shouldn't be affecting it.

Try updating to Firefox 11 (there are some major security fixes that you will want to have with Firefox 11), then re-download and reinstall the Roboform toolbar. It should be working fine after that.

Thank you for your reply. Firefox 11 caused the problem. I tried downloading and re-installing the toolbar, it didn't work. And now having gone back to V10 I still cannot get it to work. Every update causes problems with Roboform, there is always hassle and time wasted, two hours this morning so far. I am not worried about security, I always use a sandbox. I don't care when others update, or even if they update, I want to choose when to update MY machine. Is that too much to expect?

I have FF 13,and have had this issue starting with FF12.I did notice that the Roboform Toolbar For Firefox add-on has apparently been disabling itself, and roboform works again when I manually enable it.Hope that helps.
