If I use a masterpassword for my login information and clear all history/cookies/cache, will my saved login information be deleted even if using masterpassword?

more options

I have all my usernames and passwords stored in firefox using a masterpassword. If I delete/clear all browsing history, cookies, and cache will that also delete my stored login information even though I am using a masterpassword for Firefox to save my information? I want all browsing history, cache, cookies to be erased when I exit firefox but I want to know if using masterpassword will prevent clearing those saved passwords.

Logins you save in Firefox's Password Manager are not cleared by these features:

  • Clear Recent History
  • Clear history when Firefox closes

By the way, the master password doesn't prevent your logins from getting erased from disk -- the entire file could be removed. The purpose of the master password is to limit the ability of others to read or use your saved passwords if they do not know that password.
