I am using Thunderbird 52.4.0 on windows 10.

When I add a star to a message in the message pane on any of my GoDaddy accounts, the message is also marked as unread. If I read the message, the message is switched to unread and the star is removed or if the message is unread and a star added, the star is removed once the message is read. This does not occur with my Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo accounts, only GoDaddy. If I click on the star in the reading pane, it works like it should and is in no way connected to the read/unread switch.

iirc we've seen this reported before. I'd suspect an issue at Godaddy. See also https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1284036
