Lost Bookmarks after upgrading to FireFox 92.0 on Mac Computer OS X 11.6
I updated my Mac OS X to 11.6 (Big Sur) AND then updated FireFox to Version 92.0 and now I have lost my bookmarks.
I looked up the subject of losing Bookmarks on Firefox and attempted recovery. It was partially successful, as described below.
First, a little more on update history. I have multiple accounts on my computer. My main account we will call Account-A and another account is Account-B. Account-B was setup years ago as a backdoor into my computer in case Account-A became corrupted. A couple of other accounts were for my kids and have not been accessed in years.
Fast Forward - After Installation of both upgrades (OS X 11.6 and FireFox 92.0) from Account-A, I then went to Account-B and found missing bookmarks. I followed instructions provided on FireFox’s website under “about:profile” and recovered my bookmarks under Account-B
I returned to Account-A and discovered the same problem. I went to “about:bookmarks” and attempted to recover my bookmarks. The profile said it was fixed and was not able to be changed and could not be accessed. Note the file paths were different.
After nearly giving up in trying to find the file as displayed on the file path on FireFox about:profile page, I found what I believe are the fifteen (15) previous files that FireFox stores. I am unable to select any previous bookmark file from the list within the ‘about:profile” page.
In an attempt to buy time before the file is over-written and preserve what I believe are my bookmarks, I COPIED, the one file from yesterday (Sept 18, 2021) to my Desktop.
I need further help or guidance on recovering my bookmarks under Account-A.
Thank you in advance for any and all help!

The places.sqlite file stores your History and Bookmarks. Is this what you copied?
Restore Bookmark Backups
Firefox automatically makes backups of the bookmarks. These are stored in the bookmarkbackups folder.
Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B. Firefox 84+ <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> O.
Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Restore. From the list, pick the file you want and click it.
The backups are stored in a jsonlz4 file named something like this; bookmarks-2016-06-29_1424_enD1GTH ya0JmicnYWg4V4g==.jsonlz4
In this example; 2016-06-29 = date created, 1424 = number of entries.

Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles {web link} I use a Legacy add-on that makes backups of my user profile, Just In Case. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.
Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.
If you do this each day, you will not lose much data. This should be done with Firefox Closed.
Note: In case you need to restore from these backups, you may need to overwrite old or corrupted files.
