A recent update (v102) to Firefox for Android has broken "search browsing history". Before, I was able to type "tw" and see a list of ~20 Twitter results from my browsing history, arranged by frequency of visit; now, it only shows one. Is this new behaviour a deliberate change (if so, it's really bad compared to the ease of usability of the feature previously - please revert it!) or a bug?

Ate there any other entries in the search results - any from bookmarks?

Hi

Firefox for Android collects the results of a search and pages you progressed to from that search as a group in your browsing history.

If you access a page directly from the top sites on the Firefox for Android new tab screen or from a bookmark, it will show as an individual entry in your browsing history

It's not really about search, just about browsing history in general. Before the update there would be 20 results or so (where the string entered in the navigation bar is a substring of the page's title or URL) all taken from browsing history. Now there is only one or two.

FWIW there's another bug where sometimes these results are unselectable after scrolling the list of suggestions.

I am sure that history entries rather than search-related entries are being displayed because the Twitter result that gets picked for "tw" varies, just like it used to before the update. (Two sites with roughly equal frequencies of visit)

Yes, bookmarks show up (previously I had no bookmarks set at all, so I added four Twitter pages to bookmarks as a test and they all show up). Open tabs show up too.

I guess this means I can use bookmarks as a workaround of sorts. Still, going back to the old behaviour is better because there are those times you see a site, think little of it, then recall that site apropos something else a few days/weeks later and want to revisit.
