Recently gmail has been running slow. It can't keep up when I'm typing. It lags behind. In fact, the editor is also lagging behind while I'm typing into this "How can we help?" form. This is a relatively new problem - the last 2 or 3 weeks.

This slowness/lagging does not happen when I run gmail in a Mircosoft Edge browser.

Has something changed with Firefox? Please help. I like firefox.

Thank you.

I've had this issue in the past with Hotmail and it was because of my security software. What are you running?

I have gotten a new laptop recently - perhaps coinciding with this problem. It's running McAfee.

Does McAfee and Firefox not work well together? I would think it would cause the same slowdown in MS Edge, but it doesn't.

Disable McAfee, reboot, and see if you have the same issue. For me there was a setting that I had to change in Kaspersky to fix the issue. If disabling McAfee resolves the issue, then you will have to ask on their forum because I never used it.
