Hello guys !!

I wanted to disable the prefetching/preloaad pages and I found some entries on about:config that I had to change. Some of those are here on the official support site and some not, I found them on another forum.

Here's the list: network.prefetch-next (false)

network.dns.disablePrefetch (false)

network.dns.disablePrefetch.FromHTTPS (false)

network.http.speculative-parallel-limit (0)

browser.urlbar.speculativeConnect.enabled (false)

So, my questions are: 1. All these expect one "browser.urlbar.speculativeConnect.enabled" are available on android (nightly). Is there and i can't find it or it's indeed not available ??

2. Is the "network.http.speculative-parallel-limit" works only for http or it works and for https as well ?? Is there some setting to geti it to work for https if it doesn't ??

3. Is true that the "network.dns.disablePrefetch" and/or "network.dns.disablePrefetch.FromHTTPS" doesn't work (if i disable it) if i have turned on the dns over https ??

4. Are there other settings that I need to configurate or I'm good with these ??

Thanks in advance !!

Hey Ioannis, I will have the answers to your questions below:

1. Yes, browser.urlbar.speculativeConnect.enabled is available on Firefox Nightly for Android.

2. network.http.speculative-parallel-limit appears to be a limit to how many resources Firefox loads on a webpage, like images and scripts before you click them. This is so they are ready to use if you need them. It works on websites using HTTP or HTTPS.

3. If network.dns.disablePrefetch Is a setting that controls DNS pre-fetching. For example, if pre-fetching is enabled, Firefox will request the IP addresses for domains listed on the site so they will load faster if you click one. Setting it to true will disable it, and it applies to DNS and DNS over HTTPS

Thank you very much for your answer !! You covered me up on my 2nd and 3rd question, but not on my 1st. You said that the "browser.urlbar.speculativeConnect.enabled" is available on Firefox Nightly for Android, but it's not. Neither on Nightly via about:config or on Stable via "chrome://geckoview/content/config.xhtml"

Are you sure about that ??

Sorry for the confusion Ioannis, It appears that Firefox Nightly does not have that option. I must have seen a different option by mistake. Thanks for letting me know!
