The imac runs perfectly for e-mail word processing etc. The only problem I have is that firefox v2 now won't run some sites properly. I don't want to try upgrading in case newer versions won't run properly on my computer.

You will not be able to upgrade, Firefox 3, 3.5 and 3.6 require at least OS X 10.4, and Firefox 4 will require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel mac

What about TenFourFox? Won't that work on a G4 or even a G3?

The creators of TenFourFox recommend a G5 but it will run on G3 & G4, but requires Mac OS X v10.4.11 or Mac OS X v10.5.8

Thanks for the advice - looks like I need to think about a new Mac!
