I'm unable to start Firefox, even in safe mode. It started getting screwy after I attempted to update to the latest version (I currently have 9.0.1), and then I couldn't submit a web address without simply hitting "enter". Shortly after, upon trying to restart Firefox, it would crash. I can't even get the window to open, so I feel pretty helpless. I've scanned for viruses, etc.. Don't know what else to do.

Hi,

As of right now, the system that handles the crash reports is down (to my knowledge) as I couldn't retrieve the crash details.

But until I get that, I highly suggest that you update Firefox to 10.0.1 as it has more updates and stability.

I have so many passwords saved in Firefox from over the years, I really depend on it. Is there at least a way I could retrieve that information, if I were to try re-installing it?

You could try reinstalling Firefox but just don't check the box that says Remove my personal data and information.

Not certain that will work but worth a try.
