All of the screen capture add-ons installed are unable to save a complete screen capture to the desktop; no errors appear and add-ons still function
I recently just turned on my macbook pro and for some reason all of my screen capture add-ons are unable to save the complete page to the desk top. The funny thing is, the extensions function through the process without any error pop ups; however, when select to save the screen capture of the entire page to the desktop, nothing appears on the desktop or anywhere. I have never encountered this problem before, and I'm positive that I have done nothing to the macbook pro in terms of any customizations or alterations. If anyone else has encountered this issue before, I would be grateful for your input. The add-ons I have used are "Awesome Screenshot" and "Screen Grab [fix version]". I am able to save the full webpage as an html, save images individually, or download pdf and dmg files, but the screen captures just won't show up anywhere in the desktop or download folder or anywhere on the macbook pro

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
My problem is the same, but with Windows 7 - and this problem started when I upgraded to Firefox 18.0.1.
Tried Disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox (Windows) as suggested:(Tools>Options>Advanced>Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available") I UNCHECKED this. It did not make a difference. Files I save are still not showing up anywhere on my computer.
Note that current Firefox version have a build-in tool to save a web page as a screenshot, eitrher as a PNG file or copy the image to the clipboard.
- Firefox/Tools > Web Developer > Developer Toolbar
- https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Tools
- https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Tools/GCLI (Graphic Command Line Interface)
- help screenshot
- screenshot --
- screenshot --fullpage test_fullpage.png
- screenshot --clipboard true --delay 5
Thank you, Cor-el. I may have to use that (I checked it out! ^_^ ). Awesome Screen Shot allows me to manipulate the screen or page shot, though, without copy/pasting the image to another program.
Note that a quick and easy way to do this is to press the 's' and then the F1 key will bring up a help pop-up where you can click the 'screenshot entry' or use cursor up/down and enter.
Then the '-' will bring up the options pop-up, but clicking an option doesn't work, so you will have to type the name of the option e.g. --fullpage
The default file name is: "Screen Shot yyyy-mm-dd at HH.MM.SS.png" in download directory
Thanks, but I still need the save to work with Awesome Screen Shot, as the "quick and easy way" doesn't allow manipulating the page before saving it.
I'm a designer not a code-geek and people like me need an easy way to grab screenshots. Codelines in developer tool is not an option! And the F1-option mentioned above does not work...
Please, please give us the screen grab add-ons back!!! Or you have to implement a "right-click" feature within FF for screengrabbing...
If not I'll have to downgrade my FF.
(By the way - I've deselected the automatic upgrade option! Never again will I accept an auto upgrade!)

This is only meant as a temporary workaround until the extension are updated and work again properly.
You can check if there is a developer (beta) version.
Hi from End User Land cor-el. Even though your hard work is very much appreciated, the developer toolbar is very inferior to Grab from my perspective. FWIW, I applaud the earlier suggestion to include a right-click initiated screen capture feature within Firefox itself. -- Good luck and thanks again for all that you do.
The problem appears to be fixed on either Awesome Screenshot's art or Mozilla's part. I can now save screenshots using Awesome Screenshot. So to whomever fixed it - Thank you!
I switched to FireShot, which works, and I like it so well that I have decided to stick with it.
My comment should say "Awesome Screenshot's part" (not "art").
Also, thanks, HighSpeedSpoon. I'll try that one also!
