I reset Firefox yesterday and now there has been a new folder created called "Old Firefox Data" is that important?
Yesterday I reset Firefox to it's default state and when I opened up the start page later I saw that there was a folder created named "Old Firefox Data" and when I opened that I saw a list of things that I'm not sure are still needed to make my computer run smoothly. I am in no way computer literate and at times have trouble with just basic things, but I am slowly learning. I need help in determining if the things in the Old Firefox Data folder are still important and if I should somehow try to put those things back in? I hope someone can help me. Thanks

This folder contains your bookmarks, extensions, configurations before the reset , is good save this data because if you need some information that was delete after the reset it will is there
Thank you for answering my question, but I'm afraid that when you said that it would be best to save that information in case I would need it again I wouldn't know how to even retrieve, never mind knowing what information I would need again? When I posted my question there was also a box that I was directed to click on, called "troubleshooting information", and I believe it showed everything that was stored in the "Old Firefox Data" folder located on the start menu. Did you by chance get to look at that?
In this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Recovering%20important%20data%20from%20an%20old%20profile
You can see all the important files in this article, you can see what kind of informations has in every file
When you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, form data) is automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved to the desktop to an "Old Firefox Data" folder.
Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, prefs) that you have made are lost and need to be redone.
It is possible to recover more data from the old profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.
Sorry wrong page

cor-el, Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question. If you don't mind I'd like to ask you another question which is, in your reply you had said that it was possible to recover data from the old file. Would it be too much trouble for you to explain how I can do that? Also you had cautioned me about copying corrupted files. Is there a way to determine which data might be corrupted? I apologize for my ignorance about these things, but I'm still new and still learning about all these different things/ Thanks

I desperately need to recover my ReminderFox data in the Old Firefox Data file on my desktop. How do I do that?
