Some websites "not working" and crashing when exiting programme.
Recently I've been seeing Firefox play up on me. Firstly, when I go to Soundcloud, none of the songs will play. The play icon changes to a pause icon but nothing happens. Chrome and IE work perfectly. Also, when closing Firefox 75% of the time it will just produce a crash dialogue. No idea why.
I've tried the following: Safe mode - Soundcloud still doesn't work and the crashing remains. Uninstall and install of a fresh copy. No addons no nothing. Still Soundcloud doesn't work and it still crashes. Updated Flash but still problem remains. I'm pulling my hair out here, I don't like Chrome or IE but at this rate, I have no choice but to use them. My crash report should be included in this post under more information on the right.

Ok, here are the 3 reports:

I've done some testing and the crashing issue and I have found something odd. If I open in the fresh install, 10 tabs and close Firefox, no crash. I did it again, this time one of the tabs was soundcloud. When I close Firefox with the tabs still open it will crash every time without fail. If I try youtube as one of these tabs there is no crash. I've made every plugin ask first, but when I go to soundcloud it doesn't ask for any plugin to activate.
It would seem to me the issue is with Javascript perhaps? If I enable it to use soundcloud, close the tab and then close Firefox it still crashes. I don't know what else I can do.

Try to set the Boolean pref media.windows-media-foundation.enabled to false on the about:config page to disable the built-in HTML5 media player.
You can open the about:config page via the location bar
Tried that, seemed to work, allows me to play soundcloud but after leaving FF open for a bit doing nothing I Just got a crash, for no reason. I wasn't closing FF, I just left it open. bp-3a5f5e18-93d4-450f-91c3-ec7492140210

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you need to close and restart Firefox).
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:
- all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
- default theme is used (no persona)
- userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
- default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
- Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
- hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
- plugins are not affected
- preferences are not affected
That seems to (for now) fixed the crashing issue. However, as you may guess, performance is awful now. Google maps is horrific to use and browsing in the general feels sluggish. But maybe this narrows down the crashing issue somewhat.
Still not sure what to try next, I can't put up with this speed, it's like browsing in the web in 1998.
Try to set the gfx.content.azure.enabled pref to false or if this didn't help disable Direct2D by setting the gfx.direct2d.disabled pref to true on the about:config page and leave hardware acceleration otherwise enabled.
See also comment 414 in bug 812695:
That way you still have the benefit from hardware acceleration, but may not suffer from rendering issues.
You can also try to uninstall Windows update KB2670838 if you have this update.
I have disabled the gfx.content.azure.enabled pref and re-enabled hardware acceleration. So far so good. No crashes with soundcloud. Will do a soak test and report back.
