In all browsers I've previously tried, you can set up an Android default behaviour. F.x. If i visit a link to a google plus post, while having Google plus app installed, I'll be asked (by Android, through the browser i guess) to decide a default or single action: use browser to visit the Web-address or open (associated) Google plus app.

It's just not working for Firefox.

I can't really report this anywhere else so if someone could get this to a dev, it would be great

HI RandomDK, Thank you for your question, to get a dev on this I would recommend investigating useragent override.

general.useragent.overrride.youtube.com overrides youtube opening in browser and opens in app.

Does Google+ detect if the app is installed on the phone? Also they are working on something like this for every url: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=806385
