Can't go back one page without having reload the page

Can't go back one page without having to reload the page. This just started recently - I even refreshed the page and it is still an issue. Has any other users experienced this issue? Any help?

This is what I get when I hit the back button:

Document Expired

This document is no longer available.

The requested document is not available in Firefox's cache.

As a security precaution, Firefox does not automatically re-request sensitive documents.

Click Try Again to re-request the document from the website.

I then need to hit the "Try Again" button and the page will reload ... very frustrating!!!

You can get a "document has expired" message if you use the back button or a bookmark to go back to a specific page and the web site has instructed Firefox not to cache the page. Firefox tries to retrieve the page from the server, possibly by sending POST data that is no longer valid. In such a case best is to open links from such a page in a new tab/window by middle-clicking a link to avoid using the Back button, but instead close the tab to return to the previous tab.

The issue has just started though and it seems to be with the latest update of Firefox ... this has never been an issue before. I do understand what you are talking about cor-el and if this had been a long time problem then I would say you are correct. I'm guessing it has something to do with the latest upgrade to Firefox...

Doubtful it is related to a Firefox update. Maybe that website was updated recently.

Can you provide the URL for that website so we can check it out?

Overall when you run into websites that do that, you can open links from that website in a new tab and then when you are done reading that tab close it. The tab you left will be there in the position where you left it. Works good too, for websites that reload to the top of the page when you "go back".

I have been running into this for so long, I can't remember when I didn't get the message. I can't get a solution either.

I am on a website - https://www.fbo.gov/i It may have several items of interest. If I click on one to read the request, I can't return to home page, which might have fifteen other items of interest.

(This conversation (fresh reload) is along the lines of problems I have viewing Amazon, whether I am actually trying to shop inside Amazon, or linking to something from search engine. It's so bad visiting Amazon, that I don't go there anymore.)

I started a post last month and haven't been able to get any sort of response about browser cache issues here, either.

Sorry for the diversion - the same issues persist on v38.0.1 Thank you.
