Bookmarks keep duplicating
I continually have duplicated bookmarks appearing in my "unsorted bookmarks" folder, and I see multiple entries for the "History" "Tags" and "Downloads" items in the library (ctrl+shift+b).
It seemed to start with the extension "Eversync", which I uninstalled a while ago. I've restarted firefox, deleted and recreated my sync profile, and can't seem to get it fixed.
Any ideas on where to go or what to look for?

The solution was to disconnect sync from all signed-in instances of Firefox (including Firefox for android) and delete my Firefox Sync account. I made an html backup of my bookmarks, uninstalled the Firefox from the machine that was having the problem, removed all Mozilla folders from %appdata% (local and roaming), %programdata%, and deleted all Mozilla/Firefox keys from HKLM, and HKCU in the registry. I also cleared all data from every other instance of Firefox. Reinstalling Firefox and re-importing my bookmarks, creating a new sync account, and re-syncing finally solved the problem.
TL;DR Nuke it from orbit and rebuild.

Are you using Sync to sync bookmarks/history?
If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync (temporarily) while performing maintenance/repair efforts to the places.sqlite database.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks, history) in the Firefox profile folder.

That was very good work. Well Done.
