Your start page overrides my Speeddial page (which pops up then disappears, replaced by the new start page I DO NOT like). How do I replace that and get my Speeddial back. I have switched to Opera (where it works just fine) until I figure it out, but this is my last shot.

Hi, first of all, make sure that Home Page is set to about:newtab - How to set the home page.

If you are using a speed-dial add-on, it might not be signed - Add-on signing in Firefox, in which case, type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to xpinstall.signatures.required and double click to change 'Value' from True to False. This won't work forever, but currently it is expected to, until Firefox 47 - due for release on 31st May.

Alternatively, for security reasons, from Firefox 41, you need to use an add-on like New Tab Override (browser.newtab.url replacement), to make changes to the New Tab page.

Once installed, open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A) > Extensions, then look for New Tab Override and click on Options to set your preference.

You may then need to restart Firefox for any changes to take effect.

Finally, you can try the add-on New Tab Tools. I use this myself!

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.
