Describe the problem will be easier with the use of screenshots.

Example 1 - text selection Example 2 - selection provided that the object is located in a block with a certain background. That is, the selected object is filled with white background.

What are trying to do: 1. Refresh for reset add-ons and settings. 2. Restart with disabled add-ons. 3. Clean install a latest version (FF Dev Edition). 4. Create folder Chrome and add file userChrome.css. In the file add the rule (for example):

p::selection {

 background-color: transparent !important

}

It did not help anything ... All other browsers, including a regular Firefox, with selections work fine.

I need help... Thanks!

Does this only happen with the DE version (45) or also with the current Firefox release (43)?

Try a different Linux theme.

You can also check the browser.display prefs and possible ui.text prefs on the about:config page.

cor-el, thanks!

No, because behaves just FF45 (Dev.Edition), in the current release (FF43) everything is fine.

I have a bad feeling that the problem introduced myself. In the process of experimenting with different Java libraries. Initially (after the first installation) had no such problems.

Changing the theme linux ... Maybe you're right. In Komodo Edith had similar problems with the theme of Oxygen (KDE), which I now use. Thanks for the idea! I'll dig into the "bowels" of Oxygen. On the results accomplish your goal ...

Changing a Linux theme - with no results. Changing a FF theme - with no results. About:config -

  • focus settings - changing the settings of focus (changing the settings of focus: the background of the text box in the form, the color of links when clicked etc.)
  • use_system_color - design changes, but not the selection of text
  • background_color - changing the page background, but selecting text - white background and white text selection
  • no settings for ui.text prefs

About LookAndFeel... I see a setting for ui.textSelect, ui.highlight etc. But what to do? Build FF from source?
