Using Thunderbird 45.5.1 macOS 10.12.2

When using the global search <command + k> I do not get results from all my Gmail folders except for the "All Mail"/Archives folders. When I go to the particular mailbox folder I right click properties and turn on "Include messages in this folder in Global Search results". After clicking that and running the global search again sometimes it works most of the time it doesn't. On restart of the Thunderbird the options becomes unchecked.

are your mails stored locally or are you relying on the global search to search the server for your information. Messy and slow at the very best I would think.
