Do I need both junk and spam folders? I have both, and emails marked as junk go to the junk folder, but there are also many emails in the spam folder. Thank you

Junk controls are part of Thunderbird and are optional.

Anything to do with Spam is done by something else. You provider, spam software that you installed, a spam module in your antivirus.
