How do I change the color in the drop-downs for all websites?

more options

Having troubles when I visit sites to order products or have to choose from a drop-down ( like EPSON for example) to narrow down results ( Or like Auto Zone...What year is your car....then what make.....then what model...etc...) the color of the menu in the drop-down is very dark. I just downloaded Firefox a few days ago and I am just now noticing this. The background is black( or another dark color) and the text is a different dark color. I cannot really tell what color it is. I have to adjust my laptop screen and really squint to see what is in the drop-down to see what is there. I don't mind the dark background per-say, I just really would like to change the text color so I could SEE the text!! I have tried to change the Font color in the Advanced setting but that does not seem to help. Any suggestions or can someone point me in the right direction to get this corrected??? Thank you in advance!!!

I think you are referring to form controls like this one:

https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_option (right side of the split screen)

As you arrow up and down, is the selected item visible but the other items are unreadable?

Here's one possible explanation:

Are you using Multiprocess (e10s)?

Multiprocess creates additional firefox.exe or plugin-container.exe process(es) to isolate the web content from the browser UI. You can check whether you have this feature turned on as follows. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the first table on the page, check the row for "Multiprocess Windows" and see whether the number on the left side of the fraction is greater than zero. If so, you are using e10s.

If you are using e10s:

To help evaluate whether that feature is causing problems, you could turn it off as follows:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste autos and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 preference to switch the value from true to false

Note: the exact name of the preference may vary, but it will start with browser.tabs.remote.autostart

At your next Firefox startup, it should run in the traditional way. Any difference?
