In eBay, click on link goes nowhere until reload page
if I click on a link on any eBay page, it just stays on the same page (although sometimes acting as if it's starting to load, then stops). But if I click reload, it shows the page I was trying to get to.
In case that explanation was too incoherent: Say I'm on an eBay page selling typewriters. At the bottom there's a link where someone's selling typewriter ribbons. I click on that, nothing. I'm still on the typewriter page. I click reload, and the typewriter ribbon page appears. Most of the time. Sometimes I just get a blank page.
It's been going on about ten days, I think. This happens only at eBay. I have Windows 7 and the latest Firefox, 55.0.3 (32-bit). And I have disabled ad blockers on eBay because I thought they were the problem. Also, I cleaned out all my cookies and cache and it still does it. Thank you.

After going through all my add-ons, it turned out to be the ForecastFox "Fix Version" which is either an add-on or an extension, I'm not sure. If you have this problem with eBay, or any other website, disable ForecastFox Fix Version and see if it still does it. Thank you.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
- Clear the Cache and
- Remove Cookies
Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.
Type about:preferences<enter> in the address bar.
- Cookies; Select Privacy. Under History, select
Firefox will Use Custom Settings. Press the button on the right side called Show Cookies. Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.
- Cache; Select Advanced > Network. Across from
Cached Web Content, Press Clear Now.
If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). While you are in safe mode;
Type about:preferences#advanced<enter> in the address bar.
Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Then restart. Poke around safe websites. Are there any problems?
Well, as I said, "Also, I cleaned out all my cookies and cache and it still does it." But, I did not know about the hardware acceleration. So I will try that next.
(Having not done it yet), I notice that when I click on a link, the little text in the lower left hand corner that tells me what the browser is doing, (like "Waiting for ebay.com, Transmitting blah blah..." says that real fast but then just sits there and I have to reload.
BUT, I also found it depends on the type of link! If I click on someone's store link, I get the main page. If I reload that, I sometimes get to the store page, sometimes I get a BLANK page.
If I click on a Recommended Seller, it acts like it's going there, but just spins the little circle on the tab... into infinity. Until I stop and reload. then I go to it. But from there, I can sometimes click on links and go right to items! So it's an intermittent failure.
So, my next step is to disable hardware acceleration. Thank you, I'll try that next.
Okay, I did it. I disabled hardware acceleration in Firefox Safe Mode.
I noticed that when I had Safe Mode on, I did not have the problem -- I was able to go from one link to another without reloading each page after clicking the link.
The minute I shut Firefox off and turned it back on in regular mode, the problem returned.
I think this indicates that it is one of my add-ons. So next step is to disable all my add-ons and re-add one at a time to see which one of them is doing it.
Thank you for the tip about hardware acceleration; I am leaving that turned off for now even though it didn't seem to fix the problem.
