I see where Firefox Quantum Beta can be downloaded. I currently use Firefox. I would like to try Quantum, but do not want to risk losing all of my current functions in Firefox. If I choose to execute the Quantum installer, will it write over the top of my current Firefox, or give me a new browser to use?

hi, installing firefox quantum during the normal installer would upgrade you existing firefox installation. if you just wanted to try it out at this point, you could use the portable version of firefox beta from http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/test and then update that to the latest version...
