Why was I asked to provide credit care information when I installed Firefox Focus on my iOS through the App Store?

In checking the Mozilla website I see that Firefox Focus is free. I installed it on my iPhone 6 through the Apple App Store. Why was I asked to provide additional information about my credit card during this installation process? Thanks for your help. I have used Mozilla as my browser for my laptop for many years and appreciate this organization and your volunteer time.

Hi

I am not an iOS user, but I think I know what is going on.

You are right, Firefox Focus for iOS is free, but the app store you are using may ask for a credit card so that it has it stored for when you wish to purchase media like music or videos.
