How can I set PDFs to "Preview in Firefox" when they are being considered "Preview.app Documents"?

I found this other post with seemingly the same issue but no resolution: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1183732

Every time I click a link to a PDF it is identified as a "Preview.app Document." I want it to be identified as a "Portable Document Format (PDF)" so that it can be automatically previewed in Firefox. Under Preferences > Applications, PDF has the option "Preview in Firefox" but "Preview.app Document" does not. Right now my workaround is to download the file and then drag it from the list of downloads to the tab bar to open it manually.

I attempted to upload images with this post but it doesn't seem to be working. Images showing my settings can be seen here https://imgur.com/a/mXQG1

Please uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) DO MAC EQUIVALENT Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.4 with a Full Version Installer

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I wasn't sure what exactly the mac equivalent of that would be. What I did was delete the Firefox.app from the Applications folder and I also deleted Firefox settings in ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox. This fixed the issue as Preview.app document is no longer listed in the preferences. Thanks for the help!
