My server is having trouble with certificates from thunderbird email. So they said I have to delete the account and reopen to have email send properly. I have a ton of folders with emails. I need to save and restore...so frustrated

If that is the advice from your mail provider, it is probably poor advice. We frequently see folk here trying to fix the mess doing exactly what you propose creates. They might as well suggest you go buy a new mouse. About as useful. Perhaps more useful as we see some folk here when what they needs is a new mouse battery.

What exactly is the issue, including screen shots of the certificate error messages. Do you have anti virus? they are known to cause certificate errors. Do you use the Microsoft family controls in windows 10. They also are know to cause certificate issues.
