I recently disabled hardware acceleration because I found a fix online that suggested doing that because Twitch Videos were repeating every 30 seconds or so. I had also deleted cookies, emptied cache and browsing history for a different reason. Before deleting the history I was able to log into or stayed logged into anything that I needed to. After deleting history I first noticed that I was unable to log into Google. I previously had chosen to stay logged in but never had any problems logging out and into my other accounts. Now when I go to sign in I can input my gmail address but the next page (after clicking next) never loads so I can't enter my password... I AM able to log into Facebook but have had ongoing weird glitches with Facebook that are usually video interface related. That's been going on for some time and probably unrelated but I'm telling you for the sake of thoroughness. I discovered the other day that I also was having the same log in problems with Paypal and CIBC ... no error messages, just not loading the next page so can't login... Side note: Also I've noticed for some time that Bitchute videos will not play. EVerything works fine on Safari including Bitchute videos. Can't think of anything else. Thank you.

Did you use Clear Data and Manage Data on the Options/Preferences page to clear this data?

If clearing cookies didn't help then It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • rename/remove cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and if present delete cookies.sqlite-shm and cookies.sqlite-wal in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

  • make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version

You see the shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case content is blocked by Tracking Protection.

  • click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection
  • check the Web Console for more detail about what content is blocked by Tracking Protection
  • "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer
