Thunderbird has stopped working

Thunderbird has been working perfectly up until today (June 22). Suddenly I get the message "Thunderbird has stopped working" and am invited to either a) Check online for a solution or b) Close the program. I have done both a and b, and also Uninstalled and Reinstalled (twice) without success.

I also get "Problem details" as follows... Problem signature:

1) Yes... the problem went away when I opened *Windows* in safe mode. and also opened Thunderbird in safe mode. 2) Also no problem when I opened Windows in safe mode, and Thunderbird in normal mode. and.. 3) Lastly... when I open Windows and Thunderbird in normal mode, the problem has also gone away. So.... I think we (you) have helped me solve the problem... fingers crossed!

Start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled - win7 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17419/windows-7-advanced-startup-options-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode - https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird Does problem go away? Please reply to let us know results.
