I have been using Thunderbird for years and suddenly stopped working, but only for one specific account. Gmail addresses work without problem. Can't figure out what's wrong. Email provider confirms the right setting. Many thanks for any hints. Dusan

is the same port used for both SMTP servers? If so that would suggest normal firewalls would not be at fault.

What is the server name for the problem account? Do you connect with a plain password and no connection encryption? (No SSL/TLS etc)

Hi, that is a good point about the ports, I use same for this one and gmail (which works normally).

Server name is: mbox.shoptet.com

Normal password and STARTTLS used as connection security.

Many thanks!!!

Hmm I think the server name might be wrong, or simple the sertup might be.

the domain shoptel.com has no registered mail exchanger. so mail can not be sent to received on that domain.

mbox is Thunderbirds internal mail storage format, so it just looks wrong.

The IP address mbox.shoptel.com resolves to has no SSL/TLS enabled on the default port 993.

Port 587 also has no SSL/TLS https://www.htbridge.com/ssl/?id=I1lilAh3

Sorry, was typing it half asleep... the correct serven name is: mbox.myshoptet.com... does it make any difference in your view?
