Firefox for Android recently started crashing, closing tabs, or displaying blank webpages?

Hi there, I've been a firefox user for a while now, both on android and my windows desktop. Recently, I've been having issues with firefox for android that I wasn't having before. Firefox keeps closing all my tabs seemingly at random when I close the app. Other times, pages display just empty white, and won't reload. Force stopping the app often resolves issues, but of course, that closes my tabs too. I don't usually keep many open, under 8 at almost all times.

Has something changed recently that might have caused this performance issue? I'm on the latest version of Firefox for Android, 68.5.0, and Android 10, on a Samsung Note 9, with One UI version 2.0.

Thanks!

Hi Ian

Thank you for your question.

Have you tried clearing the application cache? Open the Android settings app, find Applications, select Firefox and clear the cache (not data!).

You may also want to try our new browser, Firefox Preview, that has a much better browsing experiance.

Thanks Seburo. I've cleared the cache, I'll see if I'm still having issues. If so, I'll give Preview a try.

Great, glad to hear it. I hope you like Firefox Preview - I have been using the early test builds for about a year as my main mobile browser and really like it.

Well, that's a good testament to its stability and usability!
