I think I have a virus maybe but whenever I search for something it takes to myprivatebrowser instead of google search results. and now it stopped that and takes me to only yahoo results. Can any one recommend a free and reliable virus scan software?

Malwarebytes has a highly respectable malware scanning utility for Mac. I'd recommend using that.

If it doesn't find anything, check your search settings in the Firefox preferences page to make sure that the correct search engine is selected. Also, check to make sure that you don't have any malicious add-ons installed on Firefox that would override your search settings.

Hope this helps.
