Out of curiousity when right clicking on my list of bookmarks I clicked the option 'add a new separator'. Now that I can see what the option does I want to remove the separator, but can't see how to do it. Can anyone help, please?

Separators can be removed the same way as normal bookmarks and folders via the right-click context menu or the Delete key when selected, but separators are small and are hard to remove from the Bookmarks Toolbar (you need to place the mouse such that you do not see hover effects on the bookmarks it separates). It is much easier to use the Bookmarks Manager (Library) or the sidebar where you can see them as a horizontal separator.

Thank you for your help, cor-el. I used the sidebar as you suggested, and have now deleted the separator.
