Bookmarks has provision to backup/restore all the current bookmarks. Is there a similar method of backing up/importing or restoring all the current settings in firefox? how??

I also would like a simple menu to perform that function. But I think the closest to this is "about:profiles" It will show your current profile and allow you to create new profile. It is a little confusing just be careful.

Creating a new profile really isn't what this is about. Copy the current profile might be, but that's just semantics.

Why can't the devs for FF do this simple thing?? Or are they relying on a new download in the event a restore is necessary???

Handy reading, but it still doesn't address the problem. By that note, a refresh is a default reset. Any plugins, themes etc you might be using are removed: you have to then work at putting all those back. A backup is just that - a copy of the settings/profiles as they are, not as the vendor first delivered them as - however long ago that was. FF can do this for bookmarks: I say again, why cannot the devs do it for settings/profiles?? pretty poor really.

A refresh preserves some settings in the new profile, but extensions aren't included. If you want to start with a clean slate then you can simply created a new profile with the profile manager.

If you want to transfer (import) some settings in a new profile then you need to do this yourself after having created a new profile.
