Printer System Dialogue Settings: Not using default/or last setting
We altered the about:config settings print.tab_modal to false, as it was time consuming to have to keep selecting the system dialogue box, as we have two trays on one printer that we use to print (not available as a selection on Mozilla print page) and also have other printers we use, for different jobs.
The issue is when we select one of the printers (to print labels), it does not use the default settings, so we have to alter the size of the label each time we print. Mozilla used to save these settings and now it does not.
I have even tried to alter the "print.printer_name.print_paper_height" & width, but still no luck.
How do I get Mozilla to use the default printer settings, or remember the setting?

hmm? i am not sure why a label printer application is not independent of FireFox?
But what you could try is to delete the FireFox printer settings and instead let it rely on Windows
Go to the url below, then scroll down to the very bottom of the long listing.

The bottom 2 subsections will have FF's printer settings. There will also be a button in the 2nd to the last section for deleting the settings FF has aggregated. Please press it. Close tab. Cross fingers. Restart FF. See if issue is better now.
Unfortunately if you 'clear saved print settings', it reverts back to using FF's print dialogue box, which we want to avoid. So I have updated the settings 'print.tab_modal' back to false and still it applies some random mesurements to the label size - not the deafult settings.
I've even tried 'print.save_print_settings' = true. But no luck.
ok, thanks for the additional information.
i do use a label printer but via windows and via not FireFox.
So i am looking forward to seeing if someone can provide you with a solution.
thanks!
