First Firefox just updated to 89.0.2 (32-bit) on my windows 10 system. Now when I start entering a search item in the firefox default home page search box, it jumps to address line after a few characters. How do I disable this new jump function and set it to stay in the home page search box?

You can set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar = false on the about:config page.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".
