Hello,

I am trying to archive my gmail email because I have used up the free storage.

I setup my gmail account as IMAP in thunderbird I setup a local folder I navigated to the IMAP folder "All Mail" I selected all, right clicked, and moved to the local folder

It copied all the emails to the local folder, instead of moving/deleting them.

What am I doing wrong?

The local folder doesn't exist on the server, so Gmail doesn't know what to do with the move command. Why don't you manually delete them?
