Today Firefox opened with my account disconnected. No passwords. I reset my account password but still no passwords. The logins file shows a .corrupt extension. I rename this and nothing happens. Every time I re-open FF (v 93.0) the .corrupt is added and I can't get to my passwords. I have hundreds.

Are there errors reported from the JSON viewer if you open logins.json in a Firefox tab ?

Firefox 80+ has a logins-backup.json file in the profile folder that can be used in case of issues with logins.json or to undo an accidental delete/update of a password. You can check if you can find this logins-backup.json file in the profile folder or in a backup.

Many thanks for your reply. There were no errors, just an empty file. And yesterday there was no backup file. It was a total disaster. I tried every method of recovery mentioned in the forums, but nothing worked. Luckily I had a backup profile on an external hard disk, dated from March but so far it has all the passwords I need. I've never seen anything like this. And today the backup file is there.
