Using Thunderbird with Windows 11. For years no problem but now an incoming e-mail with an event invitation triggers an unfamiliar calendar display with a box containing (I assume) the body text of the e-mail which appears to be coded. Thunderbird is thus failing to provide me with its main function. I am searching for a replacement.

OK. So now by trial and error I have discovered that I can switch the event invitation box (full of many screenfuls of nonsense) off by clicking on a unlabeled black triangle. Hardly intuitive... I get the impression that I have blundered into a strange world where no-one is speaking plain English and online help articles are talking about a product I don't recognise.
