Unfortunately Firefox is too dumb to recognize which screen it is running on. This affects the maximum initial size for new windows as well: Firefox doesn't care about the actual resolution of the current screen, it always adheres stubbornly to the resolution of the primary display.

The only solution (well, it's not really a solution, it's a miserable workaround) was to exchange the assingment of the primary and the scondary display. This would "solve" your problem as well, regardless of the fact that other applications of comparable primitivity will now use your "monitor 2" for things that happened on "monitor 1" so far ...

Your choice of the lesser evil.
