IS there a Firefox for 64bit OS?

more options

I have slights issues with Firefox 32bit on my 64bit OS. I then heard about a 64bit version of Firefox, but yet to see an official statement or software version on the site. Not even help related menus for such a version. Is there really a 64bit version of Firefox that would better work for my 64bit OS?

Mozilla is currently developing a 64-bit version of Firefox, but it isn't going to be released with Firefox 4.0 later this month (or next month - there's another Beta planned and at least one RC version before the actual release will come). The last that I heard is that it probably won't be released until the 2nd or 3rd quarter 2011. Currently there is a lack of Plugins (not counting "beta" versions) available for 64-bit web browsers, and without Plugins a 64-bit browser verges on being useless.

I half as figured as much... I didn't even mean to buy the 64bit OS of Windows 7. I saw an OEM Windows 7 that was less than $100 bought it installed it... low and behold it was 64-bit. Well I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled for when ever you have it come out. I don't see too many 64-bit OS users out there so I'm not surprised you're taking your time with it.

As for the other issue I had... I don't know if it is a Windows 7 issue with Firefox or because-like I said-my OS is a 64bit and the browser is a 32bit. Would you know for sure if thats the case?

recap on the issue: When I click the firefox button a window doesn't open, but after several presses a window does open, but when enter the Task Manager (via alt+ctrl+del; under processes) there seems to be several firefox.exe open, but still only 1 window open. They hog up RAM on my computer after a while and some times I head pop up ads in the background because of this. I have to use task manager to close the extra firefox.exe. Is there a way to fix this?

I just checked whether everything was up to date on this PC and Java needed updates. As a result, before I could download the updates, the instructions sent me all over the place, wasting my time indicating the need to determine whether Firefox IS 32bit or 64bit on my computer (natch-this PC is 64bit). By the way, their instructions leave a truckload of information out or wrong. At any rate, it is interesting that the 64bit is coming and I was glad that I will be notified when that is released! What a waste of time! Now where was that Java download page? This will undoubtedly indicate that my system is NT or some such thing-this OS is XP Professional 64bit on a Dell Precision Workstation M6400.Bye and thanks!
